As mentioned earlier, Role Playing Public Radio recorded a couple of games I ran at GenCon in 2008 & 2009. Ross Payton also ran a Call of Cthulhu scenario last GenCon out of our Mysteries of Mesoamerica sourcebook. This scenario was "The Well of Sacrifice," a scenario with a play-test history so lethal that around the halls of Pagan Publishing it gained the nick-name "The Bone Yard."
I myself playtested the scenario and managed to be the sole survivor of not one, but two expeditions to the lost city. It can indeed be brutal, but this group that Ross ran through it at GenCon came to a particularly sticky end.
So, if you'd like a preview of Mysteries of Mesoamerica, listen to it HERE.
NEWS FOR 2010As mentioned previously, Pagan has a couple goals for 2010.
We'll be releasing a new book of Classic-Era non-Mythos supernatural scenarios called Bumps in the Night. We're very close to being able to send this one to the printer. And when it is at the printer, and not before, we will start taking pre-orders.
After Arc Dream publishes their hardback limited edition of Delta Green: Targets of Opportunity, we'll be putting out the soft-cover mass market edition. Expect that 6 months after the hardback is released.
We'll be publishing two stand-alone scenarios to preview our Great War and Wild West sourcebook: "The Last Flight of the L58" and "The Darkness Below." We're still looking for artists to illustrate these.
I'm almost done untangling the legal rights of all the artists and authors so that Pagan can start selling pdfs of our out-of-print stuff on DriveThruRPG. We'll have those out-of-print books available as pdfs very soon.
Finally, because we got a bump in sales from the folks listening to Role Playing Public Radios Actual Play recordings of me running some games, we've decided to start recording games here at Pagan Publishing. No, we won't be recording many pre-production play-tests, but we will be recording some scenarios from all the books we have in print and posting them on RPPR. They'll be the official home of these recordings, with links back and forth between our sites so that folks can get previews of the books they are interested in and can also buy them on line. Later when our out-of-print books are available on DriveThruRPG, we'll start running and recording scenarios from those books as well.
That's the news that's fit to print.
Good night 2009...
